ProtectUs Ultimate™ is a water-based disinfectant that provides sustained efficacy for 24 hrs, using our residual barrier technology. Our product has been proven effective against a broad range of bacteria, yeasts and enveloped viruses.
ProtectUs Ultimate™ is formulated using a blend of approved biocides and REACH registered surfactants.
This water-based formulation is pH-neutral and non-corrosive, making ProtectUs Ultimate suitable for use on a wide variety of surfaces in professional and domestic applications.
What is in ProtectUs Ultimate™?
Ultimate is made up of three groups of carefully formulated ingredients and water.
Quats + PHMB + Surfactant + Water
Quats
ProtectUs Ultimate™ uses a scientifically selected blend of latest generation quats. This powerful combination provides highly effective activity against a broad spectrum of pathogens.
PHMB
ProtectUs Ultimate™ contains a polymer disinfectant that is used in a variety of pharmaceutical and cosmetic products. When combined with the quats it works synergistically, providing powerful anti-microbial efficacy.
Surfactant
ProtectUs Ultimate™ contains a non-ionic surfactant that aids micelle formation; this stabilises the mixture, providing the effective residual surface barrier.
Water
Our unique formulation means ProtectUs Ultimate™ is dissolved in water, rather than harsh organic solvents, allowing it to be effectively applied.
How does ProtectUs Ultimate™ work?
24 hr Residual Efficacy
ProtectUs Ultimate™ provides sustained efficacy by forming a residual barrier on the surface once it is applied. As Ultimate dries, the active ingredients form micelles on the surface (see picture below). When the surface is contaminated, these micelles rehydrate to kill the pathogens.
Antibacterial Efficacy
ProtectUs Ultimate™ is proven to be 99.9999% effective against bacteria such as MRSA and E. coli.
It combats bacteria with a dual action mechanism; the quats break down the bacterial cell wall while the PHMB enters the cell and interrupts the process of cell multiplication, causing cell death. While both have individual antibacterial efficacy, they complement each other making ProtectUs Ultimate™ stronger than the sum of its parts.
Antiviral Efficacy
ProtectUs Ultimate™is proven to be 99.999% effective against enveloped viruses such as Influenza H1N1 and SARS-CoV-2, and Norovirus.
The viral envelope is a phospholipid bilayer fatty membrane that plays a crucial role in the infection of host cells.
Ultimate destroys this envelope. Without it the virus is completely inactivated, and unable to infect or replicate.
